GEULAH
LYRICS
ELIYAHU HANAVI
© Music and Lyrics by Mrs. Dina Storch
He was known as a man who was mighty
Round his waist was a broad leather belt
Twelve generations he witnessed and saw
And the pain of his brothers he felt
When he saw people worshipping idols
He was angered and swore then and there
Three years no rain, not a trickle of water
Not even dew in the air
אליהו אליהו אליהו הנביא
אליהו אליהו התשבי
אליהו הגלעדי
במהרה יבא אלינו עם משיח בן דוד
And when he spoke, the nation listened, souls all thirsty
And when he prayed, the fires came because of him
Everyone astounded, their voices all rising
Calling out “ה' הוא האלקים”
He said, “ה', I took נקמה for your glory”
Then a chariot of fire he was sent
Never died, nor buried – not like the others
The Heavens took him, through the skies he went
אליהו אליהו אליהו הנביא
אליהו אליהו התשבי
אליהו הגלעדי
במהרה יבא אלינו עם משיח בן דוד
One day he will from the heavens be returning
Bringing only happy news to everyone
Mothers, daughter, fathers and their sons
הנה – I promise he’ll be sent to you אליהו הנביא
לפני – before that day, he’ll come to – אליהו הנביא
לב אבות – parents, children – all as one - אליהו הנביא
אליהו אליהו אליהו הנביא
אליהו אליהו התשבי
אליהו הגלעדי
במהרה יבא אלינו עם משיח בן דוד
HE’LL COME TODAY
© Music and Lyrics by Mrs. Dina Storch
He’ll come today, I know he will
If not today – I’m waiting still
I close my eyes, the picture’s clear
The news he’ll bring that משיח’s here
KI NICHAM

כי נחם, כי נחם ה׳ ציון
נחם כל חורבותיה
כי נחם, כי נחם ה׳ ציון
נחם כל חורבותיה
וישם מדברה כעדן
וערבתה כגן ה׳
When barren lands and desert sands
Will bring color and bear fruits once again
וישם מדברה כעדן
וערבתה כגן ה׳
Oh comfort us and promise us
Bemeheira veyameinu - amen
MOSHIACH’S ON THE WAY
© Music and Lyrics by Mrs. Dina Storch
Featured on album Threshold by Yossie Goldstein
The road is long and winding
It narrows down ‘round the bend
One more step – how far we’ve come
He peeks through the cracks at the end
The journey seems forever
But no, it is long only from behind
One more step, just one more step
It is true – yes, he will come this time
We’ve waited and waited – we’ve poured out our hearts
The world all around us is crumbling apart
The arrows and sundials point all in one direction
It is time that you and I make that connection
We’ve waited and waited – we’ve come very close
And he, too, is waiting for one more sign – an ‘os’
The gaps and the bridges are bringing us together
It is time that you I seal them forever
Moshiach’s on the way, on the way
We wait for him today, oh, today
See the signs around, beckoning his call
Gather all your deeds and rise up one and all
Let us learn…. Let’s prepare…. Let’s be ready to say ‘he’s here!’
Moshiach’s on the way, on the way
We wait for him today, oh today
The hopes of every jew finally come true
Now’s the time for me and now’s the time for you
Now’s the time, if ever, that we greet him altogether
Oy Achakeh lo…. Bechol yom sheyavo
The road is leading onwards
And soon we will all be heading home
Every mother rocks her child
And sings of one day soon, that will come
There’s so much good before us
No need to think of all we’ve left behind
Our nation’s yearned for centuries
We stand at the threshold this time
We’ve waited and waited….
Moshiach’s on the way….
OH, WHEN WILL THE NOVIE ARRIVE
© Translated from Hebrew ‘Al Kapav Yavi’ by: Mrs. Dina Storch
In Jerusalem, our home, lives a carpenter alone
He’s been carving all these years – but no one ventures near
No one buys, no one calls, no one visits him at all
He sits there in his shop and does nothing at all
And there’s a dream he’s dreaming deep within his heart
To build כסא של אליהו part by part
In his hands he’ll bring this chair
When אליהו will come near
He sits, his heart is softly humming
And he dreams to deserve אליהו’s coming
The secret he’s guarding deep inside him
Oh, when will the נביא arrive?
On our street, near our home, lives a shoemaker alone
Not a shoe on his shelf, he just sits there by himself
The needles in his sack have turned rusty and black
And there’s a dream he’s dreaming of a special pair
That he himself will sew for the רגלי המבשר
In his hands these shoes he’ll bear
When אליהו will come near
He sits, his heart is softly humming
And he dreams to deserve אליהו’s coming
The secret he’s guarding deep inside him
Oh, when will the נביא arrive?
There’s a builder we know – started 70 years ago
Who has built all these homes with Yerushalayim stone
Every alley – he recalls, every street has his walls
This man has left a mark in every neighborhood – on every block
And there’s a dream he’s dreaming as he builds each home
For the בית המקדש he will place the corner stone
In his hands this stone he’ll bear
When אליהו will come near
He sits, his heart is softly humming
And he dreams to deserve אליהו’s coming
The secret he’s guarding deep inside him
Oh, when will the נביא arrive?
ON THAT VERY SPECIAL DAY
© Composed by R’ Yom Tov Ehrlich, translated to English by Mrs. Dina Storch
On that very special day, in a quiet corner
Or maybe in a busy market place
People might be buying, selling or just trying,
Business is as usual-commonplace
And from somewhere far away, no one knows just where and when
Things will happen, all will suddenly change
A man dressed plain and simple, on a donkey white and little
Will suddenly come riding down the lane
And in his hands he will be holding
The famous shofar, huge and olden
Hidden yet from Maaseh Breishis for that perfect time
And it will echo through the night
And suddenly there will be light
Its voice will carry past the oceans, everyone will hear
Some will dial the information
Weather bureaus, TV stations
911 and all the hotlines – busy everywhere
Even experts won’t be able
To pick up info on their cables
Suddenly it will be happening – people will believe…
With all our prayers and all our tears we finally broke through
urmeh vbrc vgnsc ohgruzv
And as the voice starts speaking – everybody’s listening
Lashon Hakodesh all will understand
Eliyahu will instruct them – Jewish husbands, wives and children
To run to shul with nothing in their hands
Their eyes all wet from crying, broken hearts from sighing
Now’s the final chance to break with our past
Oaths that won’t be broken, truthful words unspoken
Kabbolos that we know this time will last
And all the shuls will pick up high
Like birds they’re soaring through the sky
Over bridges, over mountains, heading towards the East
The clouds as small as puffs of cotton
Children pointing towards the bottom
Wondering just how the wind blows, causing clouds to meet
And all the nations big and small
From down below will watch it all
Embarrassed faces, trembling hearts as they are left behind
The Germans will say, “We’ve been foolish”
To rule the world you must be Jewish
ykguu gmbtd hs ;uht irhdgr yhhd tsuh rgs - khhv
And from below the Russians wonder
Curling moustaches as they ponder
“Look Ivan, how scientific – we thought our nuclear power was terrific
But those Jews, those Yankels they make the houses fly”
And the Arabs our brothers, with great remorse will tell each other
“We should have kept the good relations, we’re strangers now to them.”
With all our prayers and all our tears we finally broke through
urmeh vbrc vgnsc ohgruzv
A world of our own it will be – could you imagine
It’s hard, but try to imagine
In the darkness all the stars will join from near and far
And together, their light will brighten up the night
And Moshiach will be riding, the Malochim will be gliding
At his sides and Tzaddikim from Gan Eden behind – He will come!
Bad times will no longer be – could you imagine
It’s hard, but try to imagine
We’ll rejoice with our King, in our minds only one thing
That together we’ll serve Hashem, live with Torah, for it’s true
To Har Tzion we will go and the Shechina we will know
Yerushalayim shel maaloh will be our home, I know.........He will come!
Everybody holding hands, Jews from all throughout the land
Big and little faces filled with joy
A land of milk and honey, no need to count your money
The sweetest fruits for every girl and boy
People will live longer, men will be much stronger
Women will bear children without pain
Wine will fill the rivers, takers will be givers
And Torah, our guide, will lead the way
And joining us will be the mizn
The holiest of generations
Rising up to be our leaders, reaping great reward
Little children holding hands
With all their Zaidies they will dance
As every mother, every father watches them with joy
Eretz Yisroel will spread all over
A Taam Gan Eden sweet as clover
Will capture every Jewish soul, will captivate our hearts
Children won’t be scared by lions
Tragic scenes won’t keep us crying
The Yetzer Horoh will be lying crushed beneath our feet
With all our prayers and all our tears we finally broke through
urmeh vbrc vgnsc ohgruzv
This Medrash is not just a tale – could you imagine
It’s hard, but try to imagine
Our Creator, oh how great….Our Torah, oh how sweet
Our nation, so beautiful.....Our people so strong
Let’s be holy… let’s be clean to greet this beautiful scene
He is ready to greet us all, he is waiting for our call
Mashiach will come!
THEY SAY
© Music and Lyrics by Mrs. Dina Storch
They say there’ll come the day
Very soon when the moon
Will be large as the sun in the sky
Wipe your tears, shed your fears
Know, my darling, that Hashem cares
He always watches while we sleep – both you and I
All the dreams, my child, that you dream tonight
Will come true, you can be sure
Close your eyes and dream of tomorrow
For tomorrow there’ll be more
All our friends will feel the same
We’ll rejoice as we’ll proclaim
sjt unau sjt wv - blessed be His name
The Malochim will join us too
With some songs old and some songs new
We’ll keep singing songs of praise to Hashem
For we’ll feel the feeling of Shabbos
And a closeness we’ve longed for so long
Yes, it will be worth all that waiting, my friends
So keep hoping and keep strong
WHEN MOSHIACH WILL COME WHAT WILL BE?
© Music and Lyrics by Mrs. Dina Storch
Featured on album “There’s A Place In My Mind”
When Moshiach will come, what will be?
We will have a great feast – yes, you will see
We will eat shor habor velivyasan that day
And the yayin hameshumar we’ll drink
When Moshiach will finally come
Eretz Yisrael will be our home
We’ll rejoice as we greet all the leaders of past
We’ll be glad that we’re finally home
And who will play and comfort us? Dovid Hamelech
And who will teach us Torah? Moshe himself
Who will dance for all of us? Miriam, his sister
And words of wisdom, Shlomo will tell
And who will bentsch our nation? Aharon Hakohen
“yevorechecha Hashem” a blessing for all
A world of generations joining together
All to serve Hashem, Creator of the world
All to serve Hashem, Creator of the world
